Comparison: Weblog vs. Website

Both, weblogs and websites contain individual and permanent web addresses. They can be published by either one person or a group of people.
Weblogs are mostly based on commentaries, whereas websites provide factual information
Also, it is easier to find a website on the google online search engine then a weblog.
Weblogs are usually updated, whereas a website can be static for a long period of time.

What is a Blog?

As a short definition I would say that a blog is a kind of online diary, which gives you the oppotunity to publish and share your ideas or even your general knowledge on a regular basis. It is also a platform for announcements and can be used in numerous different ways. I think that the recent developments in relation to media and the internet led to the fact, that almost everybody is able to create a blog on his or her own. Only the content makes the difference between serious and ordinary blogs.

It seems to be my turn to introduce myself. My name is Dana and I'm 23. Originally I come from Sachsen Anhalt but I moved to Bavaria in 2003. First I've been living in Munich for three years until last summer when I came to Augsburg to continue my studies. I'm training to become a secondary school teacher and my subjects are German and English. I like watching American TV shows and I'm really into reading, especially history novels or comedy.
Why I chose this course? I think I don't be an exception when I tell you that I spend a lot of time on surfing and chatting and doing other things on the internet. Therefore it wasn't a hard decision to register for this seminar. It's nearly the only one which is completely related to the present and that's why all the other courses couldn't spark my interest.
